Animoto has been around since the early days of easy online video making, and its core idea hasn't changed much: pick a template, drop in photos, clips, and music, and it assembles a polished looking video automatically.
For podcasters this works well for episode announcement videos or highlight reels built from a handful of images and short clips, where you don't need frame-accurate editing, just something presentable fast.
It's less suited to actual clip editing from a recorded episode, since the tool is built around assembly rather than trimming and captioning long-form audio or video.
Think of it as a marketing video maker that happens to accept podcast material as an input, not a dedicated podcast clipping tool.
