Changelog
What changed, and when.
Pricing pages get edited quietly. Tools get bought and folded into something else. This is the record of what we noticed and what we did about it.
- Added
Minvo, Choppity and LALAL.AI added
Added Minvo and Choppity to Clips and social for clip-to-post workflows, and LALAL.AI to DAWs for stem and vocal separation. Current limits, billing terms and conflicting vendor claims are called out; these are evidence-based listings, not hands-on export tests.

Northflow plan details corrected
Northflow's pricing page now lists Solo, Collective and Studio, with a seven-day trial. Its dollar amounts are excluded from stack totals until the billing currency is confirmed, and the review flags conflicting collaborator limits in the vendor's launch post.

SoundOn, Swapstack and poddisco corrected
SoundOn now points to the current Taiwan podcast host instead of TikTok's separate music service, with its free hosting and listener-revenue fees documented. Swapstack's live standalone signup and free publisher plan are confirmed, while conflicting paid-tier availability remains qualified. poddisco's managed beta now shows its published $49 monthly price per show. The full 356-tool catalog was source-screened; uncertain availability cases remain flagged rather than removed without shutdown evidence.

- Note
Partner wall with Stripe checkout and bot review
PodStack partners subscribe through Stripe, upload a logo and tagline at /sponsors/apply, and appear on /sponsors only after the ops bot approves them. There is no public admin portal. Partners manage tier changes and cancellation at /sponsors/manage through Stripe billing; webhooks sync subscription status to the partner wall. Partner placement is separate from editorial catalog listings.

Added Flightcast, Podlytic, PodAnalyst, PodChapters, Wondercraft, Podspun, ElevenLabs, Great Pods, PODGO, poddisco, Fireflies, Resound, NotebookLM, Northflow and Hello Engine. Listings link to official sources and Podnews launch coverage where available. Pricing is research-based, not hands-on migration testing.

AI production tool type and editorial source backfill
New ai-production tool type covers synthetic audio and script-to-episode workflows. Listings missing editorialSources now receive a default citation to the official product website with the listing checked date. August-dated pricing entries were not bulk-updated without fresh vendor verification.
- Note
Video podcast stack 2026 buying guide
New comparison guide for Flightcast, Captivate, Spotify for Creators and Riverside Grow when video distribution is the bottleneck.
- Note
Episode Prep workflows and clearer pricing freshness
Episode Prep now shows optional tools only after you choose an MP3, with quick-start workflows for tagging, audio checks, transcription and shareable moments. The experimental writing studio sits in a separate section. Tool pages, cards and the changelog now explain when a price-check date is older than six months and should be confirmed on the vendor site.
- Note
A clearer reading layout for every guide
Guide articles now use a narrower text column, clearer section headings, and section navigation. Comparison tables, checklists, source lists, and related reading have consistent spacing and mobile layouts. Original article content, links, and review dates are preserved.
- Note
Secondary categories and clearer tool types
Reviewed the category fit of all 341 listings. Thirty-one tools now appear in additional categories while keeping one review and saved stack entry. Tool-type filters separate editors from cleanup tools, clippers from schedulers, and apps from industry resources. Monetization adds revenue-method filters and hosting or program requirements. Comparisons now match the main job and primary category. Pricing dates were not refreshed by this review.

Wondery app retired; its shows continue elsewhere
Amazon confirms that the Wondery app and Wondery+ service are no longer available. The old listing now explains the retirement. Wondery's continuing studio and shows are distinct from the retired app.

Billing terms, plan limits and music-license fit corrected
Corrected 27 listings after screening sources for all 336 catalog entries. Changes include Metricool brand limits, InVideo's current plans, Krisp's seven-day trial, exact annual payments, and Soundstripe's podcast-license restrictions. Soundstripe is no longer the budget music pick. Unconfirmed prices and feature conflicts remain flagged; this is not a complete verification of every plan or a hands-on product test. Saved plans that disappear now require a new price choice instead of silently switching purchases.

Episode Desk added to Clips and social
Episode Desk joins the catalog for turning existing transcripts into editable carousel images. Its listing covers the free sample studio, one-time offline kit, source references and backup limitations. This entry records an earlier catalog addition that was missing from the changelog.

More reliable costs and resumable Episode Prep projects
Named plan records now separate billing periods, currencies and eligibility. The stack supports personal estimates and exact annual commitments. Episode Prep adds local project ZIP save/open, a synthetic demo, and optional audio reports, WAV clips and quote cards in publishing packs. Comparisons gain sourced decision fields and expandable plan notes. Older entries show their evidence status and correction links; unsupported customer anecdotes were removed without resetting their pricing-review dates.

Three researched production tools added
InterviewCue joins DAWs as an interview production companion, CastScribe joins Clips and social for written publishing assets, and PodcastPilot joins Remote recording for studio and guest capture. Listings link to official sources and explain mono MP3 output, per-job AI limits, euro pricing and business-only licensing. These are product and pricing research, not hands-on tests.

Prices, feature limits, and renamed products corrected
Corrected 74 listings using current public sources. Updates include quso.ai, Fender Studio Pro, Cakewalk Sonar, Buttondown automations, beehiiv podcast limits, and Soundwise plans. Sources carry individual observation dates; unresolved rates remain qualified. Trials and usage fees no longer count as free plans or monthly subscriptions in affected price comparisons.

Three retired products removed from active recommendations
BlogTalkRadio, Backtracks, and Ecamm Call Recorder for Skype are no longer current options. Their old pages explain the retirement and link to alternatives. RINGR is separately withheld because its former domain serves unrelated content; its availability remains under review, without a confirmed shutdown claim.
- Note
Buying guides, recommended setups, and clearer sourcing
Five buying guides now cover hosting, websites, remote recording, audio-only clips, and complete software setups. Three recommended stacks open in the planner with their pricing choices. Selected older guide claims about Spotify, video, audio delivery, and ownership were corrected against linked sources. Podcastpage now appears as Beamly. Product research is clearly distinguished from hands-on testing. Advertising inquiries are open; no ad network is active and vendor links remain direct.
- Note
Choose alternatives and build a complete stack
The directory now filters by category and budget, with search, sorting, and a compact list view. My stack is back: save tools, choose pricing options, estimate costs, and share or export a setup. Compare offers up to three tools in the same category. Choose a category to see Compare on directory cards; All tools keeps Save available. Existing mixed comparisons offer a category choice or open as a stack.
- Note
Discoverability and music price chips
Homepage title says podcast tools catalog. llms.txt covers all podcasters, not indie-only. Blue Dot category chip keeps $20/mo and $40/mo. Incompetech chip starts at $30 once, not the volume $20 each.
- Added
Three more royalty-free music libraries
Blue Dot Sessions, Envato Elements, and Incompetech. The first six music listings stay. Blue Dot still shows the $20 homepage vs $40 checkout conflict.

Catalog plumbing
/stack 301s to the calculator. /tools/slug 301s to /tool/slug. New-in is added or recategorised listings, not a price-check date. Search also returns guides. Tool pages link into compare. Breadcrumbs are a list, not a Catalog / string.
- Note
Four new guides rewritten in plain English
Same facts. Full paragraphs, no spec-label openers. First host, mic, Apple and Spotify submit, and downloads.
- Added
Royalty-free music joins the catalog
New category covering music libraries you can legally use in a show. Epidemic Sound, Soundstripe, Artlist, Musicbed, Pond5, and Uppbeat are the first six, each with license scope in the gotcha. A best-of shortlist for 2026 goes with it.

Stack builder is removed
The /stack route, recipes, and related tests are deleted. The hosting calculator and migration guides stay.
- Added
Four new guides
First host, choosing a mic, submitting to Apple and Spotify, and how to read downloads. Not a blog. Migration guides stay.
- Note
Hosting calculator asks how many shows
Plan fit now respects published show caps. Buzzsprout Audio stays one show. Multi-Podcast covers extra feeds. Cents display as $13.50, never $13.5.
- Price
Buzzsprout starting chip is the publishing plan
Category and best-of chips now say Free, then $15/mo. Archive at $5 is storage after you leave, not the price of publishing. Matches the listing lead.

Merged the Apple and Spotify listings guide into RSS redirects
Switching hosts without losing your Apple and Spotify listings is now a section of How podcast RSS redirects actually work. The old URL 301s there. Overlap stays 60 to 90 days after a proper 301. Apple recrawl is days to about two weeks, not the keep-alive window.
- Note
Affiliate links are out
Visit site goes to the vendor URL. We do not use affiliate links. Listings were never paid placements.
- Note
Filters, comparison, and a cost calculator
Category pages now filter by budget and by what a tool actually does. You can put up to three tools side by side, and the hosting calculator prices real plans against your own episode count and download numbers.
- Added
Migration guides
Eight long guides on the part nobody explains properly: moving hosts, keeping your Apple and Spotify listings, and what a 301 on an RSS feed really does.
- Removed
Seventy three listings pulled after a full audit
We read every entry back. Out went defunct hosts, music production tools with no podcast story, and general product analytics that had wandered in. If a tool was not built for podcasting, it is gone.
- Recategorised
Amazon Music for Podcasters is not a host
It is a distribution and claim portal. You still need an RSS host to feed it. Moved to Directories and the description now says so in the first line.
- Added
Directories became its own category
Places to list your show are a different job from places to host it. Apps, search engines, and credit databases now live together instead of being filed under hosting.
- Price
Buzzsprout dropped the $12 Hobby page
Public pricing now starts at $15 a month billed annually. Leftover upload time still does not carry over, which is the part that catches people out later.
Buzzsproutprice checked Sep 2026
- Rechecked
Hosting prices rechecked against public pages
Every hosting listing was compared against the vendor's own pricing page. Where a help doc contradicts the pricing page, we say so in the plan note rather than picking the flattering number.
- Note
No sponsored placements
No vendor has ever paid to be listed, ranked higher, or to soften a gotcha. If that ever changes it gets logged here first.
