Artlist started as a music licensing site and has grown into a broader creator subscription that includes sound effects, stock footage, video templates, and now AI tools. The core pitch is the same: one fee, unlimited downloads, worldwide license for what you publish while subscribed.
It is for video podcasts, or audio shows that also produce a lot of short-form clips and need music that matches across platforms. The catalog is strong, the interface is modern, and the license travels with the projects you publish during the subscription.
It is not the cheapest way to buy three intro cues. If your show is audio-only and you never touch video, you are paying for footage, templates, and AI credits you will not use. The music-only tier exists but is less prominently marketed than the full Max bundle.
The license works like Epidemic Sound: publish while subscribed and the project stays covered. Cancel, and new projects need new licenses. Social coverage is broad, but broadcast and theatrical uses need a higher tier. Read the coverage list if your show ever airs outside podcast apps.
Pick the Music & SFX plan if you only need audio. Upgrade to Max if you also use footage and templates. The AI credits are a side product, not the reason to subscribe. If you already pay for a separate footage library, compare the bundle math before consolidating.
Artlist is a strong choice for multimedia podcasters. The gotcha is bundle bloat: you may end up paying for a whole creator suite when you only needed music.
