Kapwing

Kapwing started as a simple browser tool for resizing and captioning video and has grown into a fairly complete editor, all running in a tab with no download. For podcasters that means you can take a video episode, trim highlights, add auto captions, and resize for TikTok or Reels without leaving the browser.

It fits solo creators and small teams doing their own social cutting who don't want to learn Premiere or pay for Descript's full suite. The collaborative editing, where multiple people can work on the same project, is also handy for shows with a producer and a host splitting the workload.

The free tier is genuinely usable for testing the workflow, but the watermark and export limits mean anyone posting regularly will end up on a paid plan pretty quickly.

Browser based editing means performance depends on your internet connection and Kapwing's servers at the time, which can feel slower than local software during peak hours.
