Megaphone

Megaphone is Spotify's paid platform for publishers who already run a podcast business. It is not Spotify for Creators. It is not a beginner weekly host. You come here when you have shows, a catalog, and people who sell or traffic ads.

Publishing is here. You send episodes to the listening apps. The product they sell is the ad layer. You mark breaks. You swap ads across old episodes without re-uploading. Direct campaigns can sit above the Spotify Audience Network, which fills leftover spots. Help as of July 2026 says booked campaigns run through the Spotify Ad Server.

Who actually buys this: networks, media companies, and established shows with a salesperson or an agency. Podnews's Edison top-50 note for Q2 2026 had Megaphone on 16 of those shows, just behind Simplecast. Immediate Media and other publishers have said in public they moved catalogs here for the Spotify ads stack.

Professional is the public plan. Enterprise is a quote, for large teams that need exports and extra coverage. The ad split is not on the pricing page. There is no yearly discount printed there either.

Podnews spent 19-21 Aug 2026 on publisher complaints: quiet limits on where some sold ads can run, rules that can keep two similar ads out of the same break, and bugs that were not in the docs. That is current public talk from the sales side of the catalog, not a hobby-host thread.
