SpectraLayers displays audio as a spectrogram and lets you select and edit specific frequency regions within a specific time range, which means you can select just a cough, a chair squeak, or a click and remove it without touching the surrounding voice.

This kind of surgical repair matters most for shows recording in imperfect environments, home studios with occasional street noise, older archival interviews, or any single take you can't re-record.

It takes real practice to use well. Selecting exactly the right region and blending the edit naturally is a skill, and it's easy to leave audible artifacts if you're heavy handed or new to spectral editing.

Compared to automated repair tools, it gives you far more control for the specific, isolated problems those tools handle poorly, at the cost of doing the work by hand.
