Spotify for Creators

Spotify for Creators, formerly Anchor or Spotify for Podcasters, hosts audio and video episodes. Shows appear on Spotify automatically. To reach other podcast apps, enable the RSS feed and submit it to each destination. Standard RSS delivery is audio. Spotify has announced expanded Apple video support, so confirm availability for your account and workflow.

You can use Spotify creator tools while keeping your existing host by claiming the show. Hosting and monetization are separate decisions. Spotify also directs externally hosted shows to ask their provider about access to the Partner Program; do not assume a hosting move is always required.

Spotify states that hosting does not transfer ownership of your content to Spotify. It also provides analytics, publishing tools, and video support. Compare those features with the workflow your show needs before moving an existing archive.

Free hosting does not mean that ads are required. Monetization is optional, and its requirements vary by program and market. Spotify supports host-read video sponsorships for eligible Partner Program creators and reports no transactional fees for that tool. Historical analytics from another host do not transfer into its dashboard.

Create a show or import an existing feed. After the first episode is published, the RSS feed is available under Settings, then Availability. Enable RSS distribution and submit the feed to other podcast services. If migrating in, verify the import before redirecting the old host to Spotify.

To leave, import your episodes into the new host, then use Settings and Redirect your podcast on the Spotify for Creators website. Disable Spotify Subscriptions first if active. Spotify says the redirect can take up to seven days and recommends waiting at least a week before deleting the account. Confirm the move in your main apps before closing anything.
