Spreaker hosts the show, sends it to Apple, Spotify, and iHeartRadio, and will put ads in the file if you turn that on. You can record in their Studio app. It is audio, not a video podcast host. Spreaker is part of iHeartMedia. Podnews still lists it as a real hosting company with certified download counts.

It is for a weekly host who wants ads without shopping a separate network. It is also for a publisher catalog that needs a campaign manager and a team login. Radio groups have signed Spreaker Prime for that sales layer. It is not only a starter host.

What people keep coming for is the all-in-one. Hosting plus ads plus a live app. Public episode-share numbers in 2026 still put Spreaker near the top of hosts, behind Spotify for Creators. Reviews still say the editor is basic and there is no video.

If you enable the ad exchange, listeners hear program ads. Fill is not a promise. Spreaker will not estimate your paycheck. PayPal pays once you hit $10. Downgrade to free and extra shows have to be collapsed into one, or you stop uploading. Leave later and the feed the apps read still has to move.

Make the account. Import the old feed if you already have one. Keep ads off until you hear a test episode. If you only needed a host and a clean file, people already stay on Buzzsprout or Transistor. If you needed a network sales desk, this is the Spreaker story.

If hosting and ads in one bill is the job, it holds. If you wanted a specialist recorder or a video page, pair something else or pick a different host.
