Amadeus Pro is a long-running independent Mac audio editor that handles multitrack recording, editing, noise reduction, and format conversion at a fraction of the cost of the bigger DAWs. It's been maintained by the same small developer for years, which shows in how stable it is.
For a solo host recording themselves and maybe one remote guest, Amadeus Pro covers noise reduction, EQ, compression, and basic mixing without needing plugins purchased separately.
It doesn't have the ecosystem of third-party plugins that Pro Tools or Logic have, and the batch processing tools, while present, are less flexible than dedicated tools like Auphonic.
It's a good middle step for someone who has outgrown GarageBand's simplicity but doesn't want to pay for or learn Pro Tools.
