Blue Dot Sessions is a small studio in Turners Falls, Massachusetts. Real players. Mostly acoustic. Mixed to sit under talk, not on top of it. Paid use is a blanket license. Unlimited downloads. Full-quality files and split tracks. No credit required, though they like a shout-out.

It is for interview and narrative shows that want that public-radio bed. This American Life lists them on its own music page and says the library is used widely across NPR, podcasts, and the internet. Transom used a Blue Dot track, Silent Flock, when they taught people how to score interview tape.

It is not a giant clip catalog. It is not a famous-song shop. The free mp3s are a different deal. Credit required. Only for unpaid projects that are not your job. A show with ads, a sponsor, or a paycheck needs the paid blanket.

The homepage FAQ says you can cancel with one click and that there are no contracts. It does not say what happens to old episodes after you leave. Until they print that rule, treat a live subscription as the thing that covers new episodes. Checkout copy sells one subscription for one ongoing show.

Search by mood. Download the bed. Mix it under the guest, not over them. Keep the license with the episode files. If you only needed a punchy trailer cue, people already go to a bigger stock pile.

Blue Dot is the acoustic library narrative hosts actually name. The later pain is not a hidden fee. It is that cancel is easy and the keep-after-cancel rule is not written down.
