Kit is ConvertKit with a new name. It is email for creators. It is not a host. You build a form, people join the list, you send a letter or a welcome sequence. Free covers a big list, unlimited sends, unlimited forms, one simple automation, and one sequence. Paid adds unlimited automations. Paid dollars go up as the list grows.

It is for a host who wants a list they own. Official copy even names podcasters on the free plan. It is not for a person who wants comments and Notes as the product. That is Substack. Beehiiv still wins if the job is a public writing site plus recs you control.

The free subscriber allowance can make Kit useful for starting a newsletter. Check the features available at that level and price your expected subscriber count before adopting paid automation. Existing review dates describe the catalog research, not a current quote.

On free you are in the Creator Network. One Smart rec is locked. Kit keeps any paid earnings from that locked slot. You cannot kill the slot unless you pay. At ten thousand and one people, you must move to a paid plan to keep sending.
