ListenScore
ListenScore ranks and scores podcasts using a proprietary metric meant to estimate audience size and engagement without needing host access.
PodStack editorial · Product research. How we review tools
ListenScore assigns a numeric score to podcasts based on public ranking and engagement signals, giving buyers a way to compare shows at a glance without needing the host to share private analytics. It's mostly used on the ad buying side of the industry.
This is genuinely useful for sponsors and agencies scanning a long list of potential shows to sponsor and needing a quick sort by likely size. It saves the back and forth of asking every show for their download numbers upfront.
The gotcha, and it's a real one, is that a score built from public signals is an estimate, not verified truth. Two shows with wildly different real audiences can end up close in score if the underlying signals happen to be similar.
If you're a show owner, check your own score once for curiosity, then move on. It's not something you should be optimizing for directly since you can't see exactly how it's calculated.
