OP3

OP3 is a free, public download counter. It is not a host. You put a little tracker in front of each episode file link. Listeners pass through OP3, then get sent to the real file. OP3 counts that. No signup. After a few days you get a public stats page anyone can open. The project is paid for by sponsors, not a monthly bill to you.

It fits a host who wants a second opinion on the numbers, and who is fine with those numbers being public. Some hosts can turn it on with a checkbox. Others will add it if you email support. It does not fit a show that wants private charts only. It is not an official certified count. Do not pile on extra trackers. Apple gives up if the file has to bounce too many times.

The appeal is an openly documented download-measurement system. A counted download is not proof that someone listened, and location estimates are approximate. Read the counting and privacy documentation when deciding whether it fits your reporting needs.

The public page is the product. Anyone can see the chart. That extra stop in front of the file is the risk people worry about. Big shows already run more than one of these. You still have to watch it. If your host will not add the tracker, you are stuck.

Paste the feed the apps read into op3.dev/setup. If the tracker is missing, add it in front of each file link. Wait a few days, then open the stats page they give you. To leave, take the tracker off at the host. If you need the number off the public web, this is the wrong tool.

OP3 is an honest public counter, not a private dashboard. If you want a second opinion next to your host's chart, it holds. If you need a closed media kit, people already keep the host or Podtrac and only add OP3 when they want the open copy.
