Teams records meetings to the cloud automatically or on demand for organizations with the right licensing, storing the file in Microsoft Stream or OneDrive along with an automatic transcript.

Some internal or corporate podcasts, especially ones interviewing colleagues or leadership inside a company that already lives in Microsoft 365, use Teams simply because it's already there and IT approved.

Getting from a Teams recording to a clean, edited podcast episode takes extra steps, downloading the right file format, separating from meeting artifacts like chat overlays, and dealing with a single mixed audio track.

It's not a tool anyone would choose specifically for podcasting, but for teams already required to use it for meetings, it's a workable, zero extra cost way to capture a conversation.
