Ocenaudio is a free single file audio editor that handles the boring jobs quickly. Open, cut, fade, normalise, export. It previews effects in real time, which Audacity historically did not.
For a podcaster it is the utility knife. Trim a promo, fix a clip, convert a format, check a level, without waiting for a full DAW to load a session.
It does not do multitrack, and the project is small and slow moving. That is fine for a utility and not fine for a primary editor.
Keep it installed next to whatever you actually edit in. It costs nothing and saves five minutes a week.
