Podcast Business Journal

Industry news and resources

Podnews's free Friday interview and business roundup, still used by people who sell and run shows.

PodStack editorial · Product research. How we review tools

Podcast Business Journal is a free Friday letter about the business of podcasting. Streamline Publishing launched it in 2018, next to Inside Radio. Podnews bought it in April 2023. James Cridland's shop now sends a weekly interview, a news roundup, and business data. The site is still live in 2026. The subscribe page claims more than 13,000 people.

It fits a network operator, a sales lead, or a founder who wants one long conversation with someone who actually runs a shop. Recent guests include Locked On's David Locke, Oxford Road on the AMP Accords, and Spotify's first EQUAL ambassador. It does not fit a weekly host hunting production how-tos. It is not Inside Radio anymore.

What people keep using is the interview. Podnews already does the daily. PBJ is the Friday sit-down plus a week of headlines. Locked On pointed to a PBJ interview when the industry covered its tenth year. There is a Spotlight show if you would rather hear the same talks.

The later pain is the overlap. This is not a second newsroom. The about page is still the 2023 acquisition note. The footer is Podnews LLC. Privacy was updated 25 Jun 2026, so the site is tended. Old Streamline archive pages still sit there and can look abandoned. Do not confuse those relics with the Friday letter.

Subscribe on the site. It lands Friday morning in the US and Friday afternoon in Europe. The data page points at public download lists, host switches, and app share. There is no paid plan on the pages we opened. Ads, if any, are not priced in public.

PBJ is Podnews's weekly business companion. The deal is a free Friday interview, not a separate trade. If you want operators talking at length, it holds. If you wanted the old Inside Radio desk, that sale is done.
