Google Analytics 4
Free web analytics that podcasters use to track traffic to their show notes site, not the podcast feed itself.
PodStack editorial · Product research. How we review tools
Google Analytics 4 is the free, ubiquitous web analytics tool, and plenty of podcasters run it on their show's website to see where visitors come from, which episode pages get read, and whether people click through to subscribe links.
It's genuinely useful for the marketing side of a podcast, understanding if a guest's social post actually drove traffic, or which blog post about an episode performs best in search.
The confusion trips people up constantly: GA4 has nothing to do with your actual podcast downloads. Those live inside your host's dashboard or a service that reads your RSS feed logs, not your website analytics.
Treat it as a companion to your hosting analytics, not a replacement, it tells you about your website's audience, which is a different, smaller slice of your total listeners.
