The gotcha

It does not host your MP3s. Weak host security (guessable public paths) undermines the private feed, and some players (historically Stitcher) cannot add custom feeds.

Memberful sits on top of hosts like Transistor, Castos, Libsyn, and others. You point it at an unlisted RSS feed; each paying member gets a secure feed URL and app deep links or QR codes. Access drops when a subscription lapses.

Docs call out Pocket Casts quirks after long inactive periods. Compared with Patreon and Supporting Cast, the pitch is ownership and a flat seat: you keep your site and your Stripe customers.
