Podscan.fm transcribes a very large slice of the public podcast world and makes it searchable. You set a keyword, your name, your show title, a competitor, and it emails you when something matching shows up in a new episode.

For anyone doing guest appearances, that closes an annoying loop. You stop finding out months later that someone recommended your show on an episode you never heard about.

It is also useful for research. Searching a topic across thousands of transcripts is a fast way to see how a subject is actually being discussed, and who keeps showing up as the person talking about it.

The limits are the usual ones for any crawler. It cannot see private feeds, transcription is machine generated so odd names get mangled, and the index is wide rather than complete. Treat alerts as a strong signal, not a full audit.
