Restream

Restream is a live pipe. You go out from their browser Studio, or from an encoder you already use, and the same show lands on YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitch, and more at once. Studio gives you layouts, a guest link, and one chat that pulls comments from every destination. Paid plans drop their logo, add channels, and keep a recording. Professional is where Studio goes 1080p and where split tracks and local recordings show up. You can also record without going live on a paid seat.

It is for a live podcast or talk that wants more than one platform without running three encoders. Dave Jackson used it at Libsyn and later named it as the cheaper StreamYard-shaped option. The Podcast Host calls out the combined chat as the daily habit. It is not for a host who never goes live and only wanted a quiet remote recorder. It is not the 1080p Studio on Standard. Help docs keep Studio at 720p until Professional. An encoder send is a different path and does not wear the same Studio cap.

The appeal is reaching several streaming destinations from one production. Check the destination count, guest capacity and recording features on the selected tier. Guests and producers may have different device and account requirements.

The later pain is the rung you actually need. Free Studio shows their logo. Standard removes the logo and still leaves Studio in 720p with a mixed file. Split audio and video, and local recordings, start at Professional. Cloud recordings on Standard and Professional are stored 15 days, then they are gone. Business keeps them 30. Session length is capped per plan. Clips and webinars cost extra on the pricing page. If you came for podcast tracks that live on each guest laptop, this is still a live tool first.

Practical start: connect YouTube and one other destination on Free, do a short test, and look at the logo and the 720p picture. Invite a guest from Sources with the same link you will reuse. If the live send is the product, Standard may be enough. If the episode file is the product, you want Professional, then download the split tracks and the audio the same day. Do not wait two weeks. If you already run an encoder, Restream can be the distributor only.
