PodcastPilot is a Mac studio recorder for multicamera video podcasts. It accepts SDI through Blackmagic DeckLink, NDI network sources and USB cameras. Record isolated camera feeds and audio while switching a live program, then export the cut as an editable project for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut. Its remote guest feature adds browser participants to the studio session.

The appeal is carrying production decisions into the edit. Highlights and mistakes marked during recording become timeline markers, and the recorded camera feeds remain available when a live switch needs correction. The guide documents camera setup, audio routing and project export. These are published capabilities; we have not verified frame synchronization or recording recovery on a physical studio setup.

You need an Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 14 or later. DeckLink workflows additionally require compatible hardware and Blackmagic Desktop Video 16 or newer. Multicamera recording also depends on disk speed and encoder capacity. Test your own cameras, storage and export workflow before a critical session; claims about never losing a recording should not be treated as a guarantee.

This is sold to business customers only. Each subscription activates on one Mac, checks its license online periodically and allows an unspecified offline grace period. The card-required trial becomes a paid subscription unless canceled, and recording stops working when the subscription ends. Existing local recordings remain files you should back up independently.

The provider says studio recordings stay on your Mac. Optional remote guests use LiveKit to relay audio and video; the guest privacy notice says media is not stored by the service, while session metadata is retained for billing. This is a specialist recording option with documented exports, not a hands-on endorsement or a replacement for an established video editor.
